Safety House Booklet

The Safety House is a practical tool for actively involving children in the process of safety planning. Practitioners use the Safety House tool to talk with the child about what specific safety arrangements the child thinks need to be in place to ensure that they are safe, in situations where they may have previously been hurt or were at risk of being maltreated. The child’s views are recorded in the Safety House in both pictures and words. The child is then invited to create a ‘safety path’ leading to their Safety House and to locate themself on the safety path as a way of representing their assessment (or scaling) of current safety within their family.

Purchasing the booklet

The Safety House booklet can be purchased in three ways: Single User, Training Use or Multi-user Organisational as below. Purchases can be made using the Paypal facility through our website links below or for organisations unable to use the Paypal facility we can invoice your agency directly when purchasing Organisational or University Multi-user packages. Single User Copy:
$30 (Australian including postage and handling)

Training Use Copy and License*:
$60 (Aus) for individual trainers purchasing the Booklet for training purposes
Includes a Trainer’s License providing permission to use information from the booklet in public training.

Organisational/Multi-user*:

• $100 (Aus) for small organisations of up 50 staff.
  This package includes 2 booklets and an Organisational Multi-use License.
• $200 (Aus) For medium organisations with between 50 to 250 staff
  This package includes 4 booklets and an Organisational Multi-use License
• $400 (Aus) For large organisations with over 250 staff
  This package includes 10 booklets and an Organisational Multi-use License.
