We are excited to announce three IT Solution practice workshops to support the new Signs of Success forms for children and young people in and leaving care.

These workshops will build practitioners’ skills in applying the Signs of Success in their everyday work with looked after children, their parents, support network, carers and professional partners and how to use the case recording solution to strengthen their practice, and evidence their work.

The workshops will be facilitated by Andrew Turnell, Signs of Safety Co-Creator and Executive of IT and Innovation at Elia International, and Emma Hopper, Licensed Signs of Safety Trainer and Consultant and IT Solution Accredited.

During the workshops, participants will be taken through all aspects of the new forms focusing on real case examples. The facilitators will demonstrate the use of the forms with live input into the IT Solution.

The Care Plan and preparing for the Review

24 January 2022

When a child or young person is in care, assessment and planning is complex and continuous. This workshop will detail how to use the Signs of Success approach to balance what is important to the child and involving them and all those naturally connected to them in all aspects of planning and decision making as well as meeting regulations. Forms covered in this workshop:

  • Social Worker’s Report to Care Plan Review

The Review

25 January 2022

This workshop is designed for Independent Reviewing Officers and those who contribute to the review process and will show how the solution ensures that everyone involved in the child or young person’s life is able to contribute to the review. Forms covered in this workshop:

Pathway Planning

27 January 2022

This workshop describes the Signs of Success approach to Pathway Planning organised around a comprehensive and successive mapping process that puts the young person/young adult at the centre of the planning together with people that are committed to them for life. Forms covered in this workshop:

  • Signs of Success Pathway Mapping Form
  • Needs Assessment and Pathway Plan
  • Report for Pathway Plan Review
  • Record of Pathway Plan Review
  • Record of Care Experienced Review Meeting

Registration and Workshop Details

  • Workshops are £120 each per person
  • Sessions will run from 9:15am to 4:30pm
  • These workshops will be interactive and limited to 30 places each session
  • To enable full involvement, and to provide the best learning experience, we ask all participants to:
    • Have their own computer with a webcam, using a set of microphone headphones and ensure they have good internet connectivity
    • Maintain audio and video involvement for the entire session
    • Have access to the relevant forms in their local IT Solution to be able to follow the facilitators’ live data input demonstrations
  • Once registered, participants will be sent all the information they need to participate in the Zoom workshop 48 hours prior to the workshop commencing
