Fred Magie and Rosina Harvey-Keeping, licensed Signs of Safety Trainers and Consultants, are excited to offer a 4-session workshop series geared for supervisors and leaders of practice within child protection/child welfare organizations.
Here are the dates and details of the four online workshops, plus the theme of each workshop.Â
31st October: Learning Methods — Appreciative Inquiry
10am – 12pm EST
4th November: Learning Methods — Group Supervision
10am – 12pm EST
7th November: Risk Assessment — Harm Analysis
10am – 12pm EDT
9th November: Risk Assessment — Middle Column
10am – 12pm EDT
Session 1 — Creating a culture of learning with child protection teams through Appreciative Inquiry
Session 2 — Creating a culture of learning within child protection teams through Group Supervision
These first two sessions will help leaders of practice to lead learning and shift away from tick box compliance focusing on how to lead with purpose to grow skill and capacity with the core learning methods of Signs of Safety, Appreciative Inquiry and Group Supervision.
Session 3 — Coaching participatory Risk Assessment. Strengthening understanding of Harm, as the core issue for child protection involvement.
Session 4 — Coaching balanced Risk Assessment with the Middle Column. Strengthening the understanding of existing strengths and existing safety to inform clear rationale decision making alongside harm and danger.
The second two sessions will help leaders of practice strengthen their ability to coach and mentor the use of participatory risk assessment. They will focus on a balanced approach with children and families to inform clearer child protection decision making regarding safety of children.

Cost
- The cost for each workshop is CAD$150 per person
