Licensed Signs of Safety Trainer
Thomas lives and works in the municipality of Jönköping in Sweden. He has spent his entire working carrier in child welfare or child protection. Since 2019, he also provides training to other municipalities in the southern parts of Sweden.

From the mid-1990s, he studied systemic thinking and family therapy and got his licence as a systemic work therapist in 1998, trained and supervised by Peter Lang and Martin Little at the Kensington Consultation Center.

His first experience of Signs of Safety was about 2004 when he attended a two-day Signs of Safety training with Andrew Turnell. At that time, he was the manager of a treatment house for care for vulnerable children and the child’s family or mother. It was here that his journey with Signs of Safety began, and many of the families were able to move back home with support from the network. Since then, he has done his best to practise and implement the Signs of Safety approach in treatment at child protection services in his hometown and in Sweden.

Thomas has joined the Swedish Signs of Safety team since it began and has seen the approach growing and developing in his country and all over the world.
