Ben Bevis initially worked with SafeGenerations in Chaska, Minnesota as a Signs of Safety trainer for agencies in the United States and Canada. Ben has worked at Safe Generations since he began practicing Signs of Safety in 2008 under Andrew Turnell’s consultation with Carver County in Minnesota. Since 2011, Ben has been training and consulting the Signs of Safety in numerous jurisdictions with the Safe Generations team. Ben is most excited about working with teams to help them apply the Signs Of Safety framework to their unique roles, focusing on doing what works and ultimately leading to safer children on-the-ground.

In his undergraduate work, Ben studied psychology. He has a Master of Arts degree in Adlerian Counseling Psychotherapy and is a licensed marriage and family therapist, and a certified life coach. Ben worked with adolescents and families, primarily using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Adlerian Psychology.

As a contracted provider, Ben continues to apply Signs of Safety principles and ideas in his direct work with families who are involved in child protection through a family-focused process called “Family Group Decision Making” in multiple jurisdictions in Minnesota. Ben is in the process of launching a non-profit called Encircled. It is a training process that helps gather the supportive network of youth to better help them launch into their purpose in the world. Ben is continuing to be a Training Associate with Safe Generations, even though he is no longer a full-time employee with them.
