Pernilla has been working as a child protection practitioner for 20 years and has always worked with the Signs of Safety approach. Her work involves dealing in cases of both children and teenagers and she has a special interest dealing with domestic violence and how that has an impact on children, families, and on the social worker. Today, Pernilla is in a safety planning group working directly with families and she is also consulting for social workers in child protection cases. Besides this, Pernilla facilitates training for practitioners as a licensed Signs of Safety trainer. She is also supporting organisations and leadership to implement the approach. Pernilla finds the Signs of Safety approach very useful and inspiring to work with because of the approach’s extraordinary way of involving children and their families in building safe homes, and at the same time supporting social workers to develop in their work.
