Do you sometimes feel stuck and overwhelmed trying to navigate all the issues working with high-risk youth in care? If so, this workshop is for you!

This full day online training workshop is aimed at child protection workers, social workers, support workers, supervisors and professionals who work with high-risk children and youth in foster care.

The course will focus on simplifying the processes that are needed to step into robust assessment and safety planning with youth and their risk-taking behaviours. We will dive into tools that help practitioners develop risk intelligent safety plans in their day-to-day work with children and youth. Participants are encouraged to come with cases in your practice.

The content of the course will cover:

  • Risk Assessment Framework
  • How to work through assessments and set safety goals
  • Tools to explore the worries, what is working well and goals with young people
  • Hands-on practice
  • Safety Planning Tools

The workshop is facilitated by Cynthia McLeod and Theresa Vinokuroff, licensed Signs of Safety trainers and consultants.
