Working with children can be both challenging and rewarding whether we are navigating interviews at intake and assessment or supporting a youth to independence. Signs of Safety offers a multitude of tools and processes that can be used across the continuum of services from beginning to end of our work with children and youth to help ensure that the voice of the child is considered every step of the way.

In this two-day online training, licensed Signs of Safety trainers and consultants Heidi Hebditch and Caara Goddard will focus on Signs of Connection/Belonging and Signs of Success/Independence taking participants through a variety of methods and tools using active case scenarios to help participants address the challenges of working with children and youth.

These two days will focus on the following:

  • Assessing child safety at the front-end of protective services
  • Capturing the voice of the child in safety planning
  • Maintaining a vision for the ongoing wellbeing of children in short and long-term care through Signs of Connection/Belonging
  • Working with youth using Signs of Success/Independence

Registration

  • Tickets on sale now.
  • These online workshops will be interactive and therefore places are extremely limited for each session.
  • Each participant must register individually and attend using their own computer so they can fully participate in the group and breakout activities.
  • This will be an interactive practice workshop. To help facilitate this, we ask all participants to be on audio and video for the session. Please join from a computer with good internet connectivity (to the best of your ability) with a webcam and use a set of headphones with a microphone. Using headphones with a microphone rather than your computer’s built-in speakers and microphone will improve the quality of your audio and help improve everybody’s experience of the workshop.
  • Workshops are CAD$465 per person.
  • Once you have successfully registered, you will be sent all the information you need to participate in the Zoom workshop including Zoom meeting ID and password prior to the workshop commencing. If you haven’t received your email with Zoom details by the day of the workshop, please remember to check your Junk folder for these details or contact caara.goddard@signsofsafety.net urgently so you don’t miss out!
